Pool coatings are applied to protect the concrete or gunite pool substrate from corrosion and damage. Existing Coatings will wear down in time from abrasion, chemicals and U.V. radiation. The pool should be recoated before the concrete substrate is exposed.

Pools, when coated many times over a long period, are subject to coating failure. Thick coatings become stressed and will crack or peel. These defective coatings are removed before the new application.

C.I.P. (Commercial & Industrial Painters) applies a high performing hi-solids epoxy coating to concrete or gunite pools. Other pool coating types such as acrylic and chlorinated rubber do not perform well. We believe if the client is going through the pool restoration process, the best preparation and best performing coating should be applied.

Different types of pool coatings are incompatible with each other. Therefore, C.I.P. removes any incompatible coatings before applying the new pool epoxy.

The longevity of the new coating is also dependant on the management of the pool water chemistry. Pool water should remain close to the optimal level of 7.4 ph. We recommend a professional pool company provides this service as well as emptying the pool before painting. We can provide some local pool companies if requested.
